Dog Trainer for The Prestigious Paw LLC Mark grew up with various breed dogs such as Great Danes, Rotties, Pitbull mixes, Bostons and Pugs. He and his mother had multiple dogs at a time. They had wonderful relationships with their animals, but took on a more traditional approach with training. When he met Lisa, Mark was amazed with what you could accomplish with the clicker and how the dogs were able to think for themselves.
Mark began to attend Rally and Agility trials and was hooked on what they were capable of learning and how motivated they were to learn using positive methods. In 2007, he began assisting Lisa in all her group classes and private lessons. He began teaching on his own in 2008 and ran all the Puppy K, Basic Manners and Intermediate classes at a huge local boarding facility. In September of 2009, Mark passed the certification KA-Knowledge Assessed given by the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers. Mark continues to attend seminars on working with fearful and reactive dogs in his spare time and is responsible for designing and maintaining their farm. He trains part-time as his other passion remains with tool-making. Mark's methodical background has helped many students break behaviors into smaller increments so that both students and dogs become successful. He makes sure everyone fully understands each level before moving forward to ensure the acquisition of the behavior as well as generalization to various environments and situations. |
